Service Disruptions on Australia Day
AUSTRALIA DAY FESTIVITIES
Thursday, 26th January 2011
Some temporary disruptions to CityCat and CityFerry services are expected on Australia Day due to festivities on the Brisbane River at South Bank.
Services will be affected as follows:
Flag Raising & Gun Salute
The river will be closed temporarily from 11.50am – 12.10pm between Victoria Bridge and South Bank. CityCat and CityFerry services will not operate between North Quay, South Bank 1 & 2 and QUT Gardens Point terminals at this time.
Fireworks
The river will be closed temporarily from 7.30pm – 7.40pm in the South Brisbane Reach. No customers will be able to board services at North Quay, South Bank or QUT Gardens Point at this time.
TRAVEL TIP: Get to your vantage point early. This is a busy event and some delays may occur due to the river closure. South Bank will be fenced and closed when it is full. No glass, alcohol or open bottles may be brought into South Bank on Australia Day.
Thank you for your patience.
