Tickets available on board
:
Don’t have a go card yet? You can purchase a paper ticket (cash only) from CityCat Customer Service Officers or CityFerry Masters. Electronic go cards can be purchased or topped up (cash only) on board CityCats. EFTPOS purchases can be made at the Riverside Ferry Information Centre, but not on board services. Correct change
: Please assist our staff by having the correct fare ready when purchasing your ticket.

 


How to calculate fares
: Fares are calculated by the number of zones you cross on your journey. All ferry services operate within TransLink fare zones 1 or 2. To calculate your fare, review the zones you will travel through during your journey. Subtract the lowest zone you will be travelling in from the highest zone, then add one. This formula calculates the correct number of zones you will be charged for across multiple TransLink zones when travelling by ferry, bus or train.

For example:

  • If you’re travelling between Apollo Road (zone 2) and QUT Gardens Point (zone 1) you’ll pay a 2 zone fare (2–1+1=2).
  • If you’re travelling between Holmview (zone 7) and University of Queensland (zone 2) you’ll pay a 6 zone fare (7–2+1=6).

Concession fares
: You must present your valid concession entitlement card to our staff before purchasing a ticket to obtain concession fares. Please see the TransLink concession policy notice for more information.


Animals on vessels
: No animals are allowed on our vessels without an approved guide or assistance animal pass.


Food and drink
: No food or drink (except bottled water or infants' milk) may be consumed on board vessels.


Keep the noise down
: Out of courtesy for fellow passengers, please keep the volume of your personal electronic devices at a reasonable level, with earphones attached.


Fog conditions
: Fog reduces visibility and may cause delays or temporary suspension of ferry services for safety reasons. We apologise for any inconvenience.


Service disruptions
: While every effort is made to run services on time, occasionally, due to circumstances beyond our control, our services may run behind schedule. Every effort will be made to return to scheduled arrival and departure times as soon as possible.


Unattended bags
: Please report unattended bags or anything suspicious to your ferry crew or call the National Security Hotline on 1800 123 400.


Timetables
: Copies of timetables are available on board all vessels and at the Riverside Ferry Information Centre, Brisbane Airport, the Visitor Information Centre in the Queen Street Mall and major Brisbane City Council libraries and tourist information centres.
